How Nashville Looked in the 1900's

THE STOCKYARD

The building still stands but it closed it's doors for good in 2015 after 26 years as a restaurant.

CUMBERLAND RIVER

This picture of the Cumberland River, dated 1940, shows that it was cold enough for the river to freeze - some of the ice was half a foot thick!

4TH AVENUE

Now this area is home to business buildings and various restaurants (and lots of construction)!

PRINTERS ALLEY

Still there today but definitely not the same as it once was!

BROADWAY

President John F. Kennedy's motorcade traveled from the airport to Vanderbilt Stadium - where he spoke to the huge crowd.

TENNESSEE STATE CAPITOL -> CENTENNIAL PARK

Looks a little different from the Women's March that happened this past January but the ideas are still the same!

BELMONT MANSION

Luckily, this one is still around and can be visited to this day (there are just more students on the grounds than there used to be)!
