Reese Witherspoon Says It's Okay to Tell Your Kids They're Bad at Something

Parenting is no easy task and no matter what you do or say, someone will probably have an issue with how you're raising your kids! Reese Witherspoon is no exception - she did an interview with Fast Company about how she handles her children and disappointments and some people aren't pleased!

Reese was talking about how she likes to unwind at the end of the day and one of the things she likes to do is watch Netflix, including Chris Rock's Netflix special. In it, he states that you need to be "brutally honest with your children."

Reese agrees with that sentiment and mentioned an instance where she had to tell her then 8-year-old daughter Ava that she may just not be good at basketball.

She stated:

I said, 'Aves, maybe you’re bad at basketball.' She thought that was mean. I said, 'Mean or true? 'Cause, guess what? Your mom’s bad at basketball, too.'"

Reese has three children: Ava, 19 and Deacon, 15 with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe and Tennessee, 6 with her husband Jim Toth.
