Teenager Called 'Dr. Kitty' Arrested After Botching Surgery In Her Basement

Police have arrested an unlicensed teenage "doctor" for aggravated assault following a botched surgery in a bootleg medical clinic.

Jingyi Wang, 19, otherwise known as "Dr. Kitty" was taken into custody on Oct. 13, following a complaint from a woman who developed a serious infection from a failed "face-filler" procedure in April 2017 after responding to Wang's advertisement.

The surgery took place in an unauthorized basement clinic at Bayview Avenue and Sheppard Avenue East in Toronto.

"Within a few weeks, the woman developed an infection and had to seek medical help from a licensed plastic surgeon in Toronto," police said in a news release. "The victim required corrective surgery."
