In her Business of Beauty interview, Kim revealed that she originally wanted her own reality show because she loved The Real World. She said:
“When I was really young I always was — it’s the weirdest thing — but I loved [MTV’s] ‘The Real World,’” Kardashian continues, matter-of-factly. “And I would say to my best friend’s dad who was a manager, ‘You should be my manager! and when we’re 18 I’m going to send a tape into ‘The Real World’ because I have to be on a reality show.’ Like that’s it! It clicked. This is what I want to do. And then the producers that produced ‘The Real World’ produced my show, so it kind of all came full circle.”
She went on to talk about how she didn't feel that she was interesting enough to carry a show on her own, so she wanted her family to be a part of it. Producers were at first skeptical of the idea of having a whole family on a reality show but Kim basically told them to take it or leave it!
Kim also talked about how she created an empire: not only does she have her own fragrance and make-up line but she also plans to come out with an intimates/shapewear line!
