After being a finalist 3 times, Pekka Rinne of the Nashville Predators wins the Vezina Trophy for the best goalie in the NHL in the regular season.

While the team lasted only to the second round of the playoffs, Pekka hit so many milestones during the best season he's ever had.

Look at just some of his achievements this season:

  • 8 shutouts
  • 42 wins
  • A 2.31 goals against average per game
  • .927 save percentage (he stopped 92.7% of all shots he faced)

He finished first in nearly every category for goalies.

He also passed Miikka Kipprusoff for most shutouts by a Finnish goalie.

In January he was stellar in the NHL All Star game.

He earned his 300th win in February. All with the Predators.

We're so proud of you Pekks!!
