Eight Times "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" Was Accused of Being Fake

We all know that Keeping Up with the Kardashians is not completely 100% reality (how can one family have so much drama over 10 years?!) but some moments in the show have been called out for being staged. Let's take a look at 8 of them!

1. This season's Khloe/Kim/Kourtney drama.

The sisters have always fought but this season has brought the fighting to a whole new level with Kim and Khloe basically wanting to cut Kourtney out of the show. At one point, Kourtney stated that she had to force her "fake relationships" with her sister just to get paid. Yikes.

2. Kris Humphries' proposal to Kim

Russell Jay (one of the show's executive producers) stated in a deposition that Kim knew about Kris' "surprise" proposal and they even re-shot it because she wasn't happy with her reaction on the first take.

3. A conversation between Kim and Kris Jenner

Fast forward a few months and Kim wants out of the marriage. She had a conversation with her mom, while they were on vacation in Dubai, about the future of her relationship. She said:

“There’s something in my relationship that I feel isn’t right. I’m learning a lot of things about him that I didn’t know before. Married life isn’t what I thought it’d be with him.”

HOWEVER, there were paparrazzi photos taken in December of Kim and Kris, wearing the exact same outfits as the scene in "Dubai," which was 2 months after Kim had filed for divorce. Click here to see the photos.

4. Kim/Kris party brawl

Before their marriage went up in flames, Kim and Kris had a huge argument about Kris throwing a party in Kim's New York penthouse hotel room while she was out of town. However, according to the same deposition as above, that scene was created for the show and that Kim was actually in the hotel at the time AND Kim had to use a "tear stick" to cry on cue. WAS ANYTHING ABOUT THIS MARRIAGE REAL

5. Khloe's DUI arrest

In March 2007, Khloe was arrested for driving under the influence. Since the incident garnered so much attention, the producers of KUWTK decided to stage a re-enactment of the arrest for the show, which they stated in a disclaimer at the beginning of the episode.

However, Khloe stated that she was grieving her father around the anniversary of his death, which led to her getting behind the wheel drunk. But Robert Kardashian's anniversary is not until September 30th. She definitely could have been grieving her father 6 months early or it could have been an excuse for the DUI - we'll never know! The episode did end up airing that November though. Take that as you will.

6. Fake house fronts

In 2014, it was revealed that the houses used in exterior shots for Keeping Up With the Kardashians were NOT their actual houses. Kim defended their decision to use fake house fronts in order to protect their privacy. Now they use actual shots of the exteriors of their homes but they only show the houses from behind.

7. Khloe's fertility issues

While Khloe was married to Lamar, her struggle to have a baby was the theme of a lot of episodes of KUWTK. They had apparently been trying for 2 years when she saw a specialist who told her she "didn't ovulate."

However, last June, Khloe basically admitted that she wasn't actually trying that hard to conceive:

"I was married but I knew the circumstances weren’t the healthiest, so I just kept pretending I was doing it. When I was doing my fertility treatments, they were more so for Lamar. There was much deeper stuff that was happening in our marriage. I knew that it wasn't the right situation to bring a child into, and I think I've done a lot of covering up for him, like even when it made me look like I was the problem. But I was fine taking on that burden on my shoulders because he had a lot of other deeper shit to deal with."

She then went and got more tests and found out she was ovulating as normal and soon after had baby True.

8. Kourtney and Scott

From the beginning, Kourtney and Scott have had tons of ups and downs, including: fights, cheating allegations, breaking up and getting back together, smashing hotel mirrors, etc. which led to Kourtney's whole family hating Scott for a while.

However, I don't think we'll ever know what's real and what's fake with them. Many people believe their relationship is real, with fake drama added in or amplified.

Kourtney recently was asked how she'll explain their relationship drama to their three children to which she said "I'll just say none of it's true."

Is she kidding? Or maybe she wants it to come off as a joke when deep down it's true.
