Alessia Cara "Trust My Lonely"

The name Alessia Cara is not new to you.  The Grammy award winning 22-year old singer/songwriter burst on to the scene in 2016 with her introverts' anthem "Here", followed by two more MASSIVE hit songs - "Wild Things" and "Scars to Your Beautiful" - that helped her earn the 2018 Grammy for Best New Artist.

Known for her powerful voice, compelling lyrics, and image positivity in her music, she's quickly become one of the most well-loved artists for young females.

But if you still weren't familiar with Alessia following her multi-platinum debut album Know-It-All, two collaborations in 2017 sent her towards the next level of superstardom.  First, it was the #1 hit "Stay" with Zedd, and then the song 1-800-273-8255 with Logic, which served as the mental health awareness anthem for the year and was nominated for pretty much every award imaginable.

This summer, fresh off the debut of her single "Growing Pains", we got to see Alessia's talent up close and personal when she headlined our second River on the Rooftop show in Downtown Nashville...and KILLED IT.

Now, her second single from her upcoming album The Pains of Growing is out, and while the song is a little bit of an evolution for Alessia sonically, "Trust My Lonely" holds true to her propensity towards cleverly phrased lyrics, big pop hooks, and a female empowerment theme.

The breakup anthem boasts giant middle fingers to ex-lovers like "I found my footing on my own, and I can do better, do better alone" and "I've been your doll that you poke for fun too long".

Check out the video for "Trust My Lonely" below and, of course, follow Alessia on Twitter and Instagram. Her new album The Pains of Growing drops on November 30th.
