Time to get your hiking in before it becomes miserably hot this summer! Here are 7 Tennessee hikes you can do that are just about 1 mile long!
CADES COVE
Cades Cove has a nature trail that takes you through the cove and lets you enjoy all of the flora and fauna that the park has to offer, especially the dogwoods that bloom in the spring!
GHOST HOUSE TRAIL
This 1.2 mile hike at Big Ridge State Park in Knoxville takes you through this supposedly haunted area. The area's pre-1930's inhabitants supposedly still haunt the area and you can even see an abandoned house leftover from the time.
BURGESS FALLS TRAIL
If you're not looking to do a strenuous, all day waterfall hike, Burgess Falls' 1 mile trail will do the trick!
THARP TRACE
This trail near Knoxville is slightly over one mile but it takes you around an abandoned quarry that is now a lake!
RIDGETOP TRAIL
This trail is in Beaman Park - which actually has a trail that goes about 4 miles but you can cut off on the Ridgetop Trail, which takes you along a nice creek!
JIM BAILEY NATURE TRAIL
Out at Montgomery Bell State Park, only 45 minutes away from Nashville, you can take the 3/4 of a mile Jim Bailey Nature Trail.
STILLHOUSE HOLLOW FALLS TRAIL
Deemed one of the most underrated waterfalls in Tennessee, the hike to these falls is just under a mile...the best part? It's not as busy as all of the other falls!
