Julia Roberts looked back at the movie that made her a star, Pretty Woman, and revealed something rather disturbing. For many this is a terrific love story. A wonderful fantasy. Actress Patricia Arquette (who revealed she auditioned for the part in Pretty Woman in the early stages of production), interviewed Roberts for Variety
The movie started as an adaptation of a much darker script by J.F. Lawton called '3,000'. Before it became the smash hit 'Pretty Woman' from direcor Gary Marshall, the ending was not a happy one. Nope. Not. At. All.
Roberts said the script's ending looked like this:
'Threw her out of the car, threw the money on top of her, as memory serves, and just drove away, leaving her in some dirty alley.'
