It's Smile Power week. Take care of your teeth. They are so important. Your smile (or lack of one) can affect your career, your finances, your relationships, and your health. Woody and Jim sat down with Dr. Phil Wenk. He's the CEO and a real dentist at Delta Dental Tennessee. He talked to us about the free dental clinics they sponsor throught Nashville and all of Tennessee. His story about the man laying on the train tracks will give you chills.

Look at some of these facts about Tennessee:

Studies show that 13 percent of Tennessee adults ages 18-64 have lost six or more teeth due to decay, infection or gum disease, ranking the state 39th in a national study. This number is 30% higher than the national average of 10%.

In 2018, Tennessee’s charitable and reduced cost dental clinics provided more than 34,600 procedures to patients who may otherwise not have received care.

According to research by the American Dental Association, 45% of low-income adults say they avoid smiling, and 68% of them sometimes find life in general less satisfying due to the condition of their mouths and teeth.
