Metro Nashville police arrested a man after he allegedly swung a "shirt weapon" at a hotel in Nashville.

Police were called to the La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham on Atrium Way off Briley Parkway on Thursday night (September 16) after a shirtless man reportedly threatened people at the hotel, WKRN reports. According to an arrest warrant, John Hernandez, 52, walked into the hotel acting "erratically."

When he was denied a room because of his behavior, an angry Hernandez fashioned his shirt into a weapon, filling it with rocks to create a "swinging bludgeon." Officers said he threatened other people inside the hotel with his makeshift weapon, swinging the rock-filled T-shirt several times at his victims.

Officers were able to take the suspect into custody once they arrived. Hernandez was arrested and charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was booked into Metro Jail on a $10,000 bond.

This isn't the first time a man's unusual behavior has caught the attention of police. Last month, a man in East Tennessee was arrested after he reportedly jumped into the Nolichucky River without clothes and floated down the current while singing "God Bless the U.S.A."
