The First YouTube Video Ever Played

2012 Consumer Electronics Show Showcases Latest Technology Innovations

17 years ago, nobody had ever seen a Youtube video.

The very first video uploaded to YouTube was a teenager who visited the San Diego zoo and dropped this information bomb about elephants.

That's right, here's the lowdown on elephants:

"Alright, so here we are, in front of the elephants. The cool thing about these guys is that they have really, really, really long, um, trunks, and that's, that's cool."

There you have it about elephants. How'd it do as a video?

But now the incredible story of that kid.

Jawed Karim is the kid telling us about pachyderms. He's also the co-founder of YouTube!

A year after the elephant video, he and his partners sold YouTube for 1.65 BILLION DOLLARS.

YouTube says one billion hours of content is watched daily.
