With it getting closer and closer to Halloween, I have found yet another haunted place here in Tennessee you can visit and even SPEND THE NIGHT! Let me introduce you to the Cades Cove Campground in the Great Smokey Mountains. This probably one of the most popular places to camp here in Tennessee.
It actually turns out that the Cades Cove Campground is actually haunted!!
Now as you can see below, the campground has some very beautiful sights, but I'm not here to talk about the beauty of the campground. No, I'm here to tell you all about how it's haunted!
You see the place is a historic settlement that was settled by John Oliver back in 1812. Native Americans had trekked two trails through the mountain at that time. One way was through the woods and the other way was through the new settlement by John Oliver.
One thing that sits on the property was a church known as the Primitive Baptist Church.
Right outside of the church windows, there is a graveyard. As you can see above there are graveyard markers and it has been said and stated that some of those graves are marked "Murder Victims." IT has been reported by people that have camped there overnight have seen figures in the woods, strange noises, and even the ghost of Basil Estep.
The story of Basil says they were supposedly killed by the ghost of his wife. Not sure if that one is true or not, but that is a story for a different time.
Below you can check out a video on the history of the Old Cades Cove! Anybody down to go camping this weekend?
