Metallica Postpones Their Tour As James Hetfield Enters Rehab

Metallica has announced they are postponing their upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand. This is a result as frontman James Hetfield has entered a treatment program for addiction.

Hetfield had struggled with alcohol abuse throughout Metallica's career. Back in the early 2000s he entered rehab and became sober for many years after rehab. Unfortunately, the band announced Friday night (September 27th) that Hetfield had relapsed.

The band issued the following statement on their instagram:

As of right now, Metallica's 2020 spring tour of South America is still on schedule! Get well James and props to Metallica for being completely honest with their fans on what’s going on!
