Nashville D.A. Stopping Prosecution Of Minor Marijuana Offenses

In Nashville, there have been several things brought up involving marijuana and today there's a new step. Glenn Funk, Nashville District Attorney announced his office will be eliminating prosecution for minor marijuana charges!

Effective Wednesday, individuals with possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana will no longer be prosecuted from the D.A.'s office. This moves got the approval of Mayor John Cooper.

Funk said the time and resources formerly prosecuting these minor marijuana crimes will go toward supporting victims and prosecuting violent crime.
