The best diet for 2019 is the Mediterranean diet - and no, it's not going to make you live only on kale or eat cheese for every meal!
A panel of nutritionists and specialists in diabetes, heart health and weight loss reviewed 41 different diets - including keto, Weight Watchers and Atkins.
The Mediterranean diet won over all but was also number 1 for the best heart-healthy diet category and best plant-based diet category.
How does it work? Well, the Mediterranean diet comes from the countries surrounding the Mediterranean Sea and is high in fresh fruits and vegetables and low in red meat and sugar. As opposed to other diets, it's not highly restrictive, is balanced and is safe for most people.
It focuses on heart-healthy fats like avocado, salmon and olive oil - so it could possibly lower bad cholesterol.
Also included in the diet are salads, nuts, beans and whole-grain pita bread.
The best part? YOU CAN DRINK WINE! One glass a day for women and two for men is okay as long as your doctor okays it!
