One of our favorite spots on Lower Broadway won't be open again for a while! Nashville Fire Department responded to a fire at Merchants', a staple in downtown Nashville located at 4th and Broadway.
Good work by our personnel on this fire at Merchants downtown. They will be closed indefinitely as a result. pic.twitter.com/94mlmIOhu3— Nashville Fire Dept (@NashvilleFD) May 31, 2018
It's unclear what caused the fire, but the restaurant will be closed "indefinitely" according to their owners.
THIS IS SO SAD!
Literally, guys, I ordered lunch from their yesterday. ALWAYS good food, good drinks, and not to mention their Duck Fat Tater Tots which are uh-MAZ-ing.
Luckily no one was hurt in the blaze. Hopefully they figure out what caused it and are able to re-open soon!
UPDATE (2:00pm): It's been determined that the fire was caused by a smoker on the 3rd floor of the restaurant. No serious damaged was caused, an owners believe the restaurant will be back open as soon as tomorrow.
