If you're traveling in and out of downtown Nashville this weekend, prepare for delays or alternate routes, as construction will shut down portions of I-65 and I-40.
Remember when that truck crashed into an overpass back in April? Well, the fix that TDOT put in place was only a temporary band-aid, and now it's time for a more permanent solution.
As a result, the Northbound I-65 ramp onto I-40 will be closed this weekend starting at 8pm on Friday, and the I-40 East ramp over I-65 will be down to one lane.
The work will continue throughout the weekend, and traffic will return to normal on Monday morning at 6am. A second closure is expected in mid-July.
Several alternate routes are available to bypass the construction, including I-440, Highways 31 and 431, and Nolensville Pike.
