Celine Dion Launches Gender-Neutral Children's Clothing Line

Celine Dion just launched a new clothing line for children called Celinununu (the name is not a joke).  The difference between other baby clothes? Celinununu is Gender-Neutral, which she so eloquently lays out in the most dramatic Celine Dion-esque launch commercial you could possibly imagine.

CELINUNUNU liberates children from the traditional roles of boy/girl, and enables younger people to grow on values of equality with the freedom to strengthen their own power of personality based on mutual respect.

That statement comes from Celinununu's official website.

People, and for that matter – little humans, express themselves through clothes. We would like to enable them to be who they are, so that their choices are driven by their own true essence and free spirit, beyond stereotypes or any norm.

The line has a pretty wide variety, from super trendy like this alphabet zip hoodie to sort of weird but trendy like this coat that looks like a trash bag from space.

There are two common themes to Celinununu.  One is that all of the clothes are completely gender-neutral.  No blues or pinks, no sports prints or lacy bows.  The other theme is that they're all SUPER expensive.  Like that trash bag space coat? Yeah that's $160.

For the most part, though, feedback to the line has been positive.

Still, others can't seem to get past the prices.

Do you love the concept?

I like some of the clothes, but sorry Celine - my kid goes through clothes like every 8 weeks.  Not spending $100 on his entire wardrobe, much less one piece of clothing.
