Iconic actor Bruce Willis is stepping away from acting.
In a statement released by several members of his family, including daughter Rumer and ex-wife Demi Moore, Bruce is stepping away from his career after being diagnosed with aphasia.
This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him. As Bruce always says, 'Live it up' and together we plan to do just that
Aphasia usually comes on after a sudden medical incident like a stroke, or can develop over time as a result of a nerological disorder. Former US Congresswoman Gabby Giffords was diagnosed with aphasia after a shooting in 2011. It is a disease that limits a person's ability to speak, understand language, read, or write.
Willis currently has several film projects in postproduction, but it would appear they will be his last. Sending lots of love and hope to the Willis family during what has to be a difficult thing to navigate.
