All bars on lower Broadway have been requested by the Mayor of Nashville to shut their doors to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
Bartenders, servers, dishwashers, security personnel, etc. are all being affected due to the loss of income with the closures of these bars.
Dierks Bentley owns Whiskey Row in Downtown Nashville and has recently pledged $90,000 to help support the loss of wages that his 90 employees have endured.
He made the announcement via Instagram stating:
I am going to immediately give each of our 90 hourly employees $1000 to help in the short run as our community and country try to get a handle on the situation
He goes on to encourage other bars on Broadway to do the same:
I encourage all bar owners on Lower Broadway to take care of their bartenders, bar backs, waitresses, security, dish washers etc. the best they can.
