Tennessee Governor, Bill Lee, is going to issue an executive order to allow contact sports in schools.
Apparently Executive Order No. 55 will allow for contact sports to begin on time, providing they follow the requirements of TSSAA. You can find the TSSAA 2020 Football Contingency Roadmap HERE!
According to our news partner, FOX 17 - Governor Bill Lee said;
It’s an important part of our community athletics."We have to remember common sense precautions have to be in place with COVID-19 in order for any return to play to be successful.
Any non-TSSAA affiliated schools must follow guidelines that are equivalent to the ones set by the sports organization.
According to their website, TSSAA decided last week that they will require fans attending sporting events to wear masks. Schools will be asked to limit the number of fans in attendance and mark specific seating arrangements to allow for social distancing.
Any coaches, players, team personnel, officials and even fans must also have their temperature checked before entering any of the game facilities!
