Netflix Has Launched A Monthly Fee For Those Who Share Passwords

Netflix has announced their plan for those who share their passwords with other households... kinda.

They've settled on a $2.99 fee per month, per home.

The "Add Home" feature will start next month in countries like Dominican Republic, Argentina, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras. Basic Plan subscribers are only allowed to add a single extra home, while the Standard and Premium plans can add up to two and up to three.

No word on when it will make its way to the U.S. The company said they're still working on what avenue they're going to take to charge their members for sharing passwords.

A similar feature—known as “Add Extra Member”—was launched in Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru earlier this year as one possibility.
