Kentucky is Home to a Noah's Ark Theme Park

posted by Robin -

We're all familiar with Noah's Ark, right? Well if you didn't grow up going to a Catholic school and reading the Bible in class, maybe you aren't...so I'll fill you in.

The story of Noah's Ark appears in the Book of Genesis and is a MASSIVE boat meant to save the lives of a bunch of people and animals from a world-engulfing flood.

Variations of the story have been told forever, some even making their way into pop culture. Its even been turned into a theme park called Ark Encounter!

The park, located in Williamstown, Kentucky was built by the Answers in Genesis Ministry and features a full-scale replica of the ark!

Even if you're not a religious person, this place seems really freakin' cool! The ark is over 90 feet tall and 510 feet long. Not sure how big that is? Well, imagine three giraffes stacked on top of each other - that's how tall it is. And imagine two school buses next to each other - that's how wide it is. And longer than a football field!!

Plus, it has a two-story restaurant, aquarium, gift shop, and zip lining! And of course, its got plenty of animals!

Our llamas and alpacas were sheared this week! Their hair is actually called fiber and can be used to make a variety of products. They seem to be enjoying their haircut as the Spring temperatures are rising. Here's Shem the llama before and after shearing.
