Brothers Spend 8 Years Remaking Toy Story 3 With Real Toys

I absolutely LOVE Toy Story, especially Toy Story 3. I mean...come on...bring on the tears! Morgan and Mason McGrew of Des Moines, Iowa are just as obsessed with it as I am. Actually, maybe even more obsessed, because for the last EIGHT YEARS, they've been recreating the movie shot for shot with their own Toy Story toys!

At the start of the project, the brothers were only 12 and 15. They used 'stop-motion' to create their real life version. If you're not familiar with stop motion, its basically a series of photos pieced together to create a video. According to Mason a 1-6 second clip could use "more than 25 video elements". I cannot imagine being that disciplined as a kid! I would've given up on the whole thing after about 5 minutes, but lucky for us, they didn't give up!

Today, Morgan is 23 and a graduate of Buena Vista University with a degree in Digital Media/Business. Mason, 21, is following in his brother's footsteps and finishing up his last semester at the same school with same degree. The two hope to continue working on stop-motion films together and I can't wait to see what else they come up with!
