Demi Lovato fans were shocked last week when the songstress revealed via her new track, Sober, that she has relapsed after six years of sobriety.
[Reports of her drunken behavior at Coachella made the rounds weeks before the admission. Two sources have since confirmed that Demi started drinking again after the first leg of her Tell Me You Love Me Tour.]
sober by demi lovato is so honest and heartbreaking— claire 🍒 (@clairelybrand) June 25, 2018
She performed the emotional ballad live Sunday night at Rock In Rio, breaking down as she sang the lines: I'm sorry to my future love for the man that left my bed/For making love the way I saved for you inside my head/And I'm sorry for the fans I lost who watched me fall again/I wanna be a role model/but I'm only human.

demi lovato’s “sober” serves as a painful reminder that recovery is a lifelong process + you don’t simply outgrow addiction. it’s a daily battle folks + it’s easy to slip up— kathryn paige (@kxtewxtson) June 21, 2018
My heart. I'm so proud of how far @ddlovato has come. 'Sober' is truly so beautiful. I admire Demi SO much for her bravery to discuss these things with us, her Lovatics. Thank you for being my ultimate inspiration for a whole decade now. Stay strong, Demi. #WeAreStillHereDemi— liz (@eliluxvx) June 25, 2018
I've never struggled w/ addiction. I have struggled w/ mental health and anorexia. Listening to Sober by Demi Lovato was relatable, raw, and real. I hope she gets the help she needs because this doesn't make her less of a person.. We all need help sometimes.— Ashley Stormborn, Khaleesi of the Green Mountains (@AshleyStormborn) June 22, 2018
