Halsey just released new breakup anthem Without Me -- and tbh there are several reasons that we're all freaking out.
1. Without Me is all about Halsey's highly publicized breakup with G-Eazy, after he was caught cheating on her several months ago.
2. The couple has since reunited, so this song coming out anyway is ~*KiNdA aWkWaRd!*~
3. HALSEY USES A LYRIC FROM ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE SONGS OF ALL TIME ABOUT 3/4 OF THE WAY THROUGH THE TRACK! [hint: cry me a river]
Listen to Without Me below!
Apparently this song is the first she's ever written under her birth name, Ashley Frangipane.
“I think that’s what I’m kind of getting at is that it’s like it’s not protected by some character or some subplot,” she said in an interview with Beats 1 Radio. “It’s like this is really me talking about my life. It kind of gave me like an existential crisis as an artist a little bit, because I’ve prided myself on being an artist who’s authentic and writes about her life and all that stuff. And then when I made this and I felt just how bad it hurt.”
Thoughts?!
