Prince Harry & Meghan Markle shocked the world yesterday when they announced their intentions to 'step back' from being senior members of the royal family. The lovebirds stated that they want to work to become financially independent from the crown, and split their time between the United Kingdom and North America.
The announcement comes after rampant rumors of tensions between Prince Harry and his older brother, William, as well as much tumult between Meghan and the British press [who have been absolutely brutal to her].
Sources close to the royal family suggest that Queen Elizabeth was blindsided by Harry & Meghan's declaration (cleverly dubbed by the general public as "Megxit").
Buckingham Palace later responded with its own statement --and it definitely gives off a "YoU'rE NoT gOiNg AnYwHeRe, MiStEr" type of vibe.
Allegedly, Harry & Meghan never actually discussed this move with members of the royal family. Queen Elizabeth & Prince Charles (Harry's father) are reported to have "privately expressed their hurt and disappointment."
Meanwhile, Twitter is having a field day.
