I'm still pretty annoyed that the Lizzie McGuire reboot has been put on hold by Disney+. I mean, really -- after all these years, you're gonna tell us its happening just to crush our dreams by shutting it down all over again?!
If you didn't already know, the former showrunner was let go by Disney after they had clashing ideas about what Lizzie's life would look like at 30. Apparently they wanted to go in a more family friendly direction.
Now sources are claiming that the first episode of the reboot [note, they only filmed two before production was shut down] featured sex and a cheating scandal.
Seems like an age-appropriate storyline, especially since fans of the original show are around the same age -- but Disney+ was spooked, anyway.
Hilary has spoken out about it on Instagram, asking the HoUSe oF MoUSe to move the show over to Hulu so that the characters aren't confined by a PG rating.
I think its a great idea.
What are your thoughts?
