Special Prom Held For Senior Dogs That Need Homes

It was a paw-ty to remember! See what we did there? Senior dogs often get overlooked in shelters and rescues, but this rescue and it's volunteers in Florida didn't want to happen anymore. They put together a special event to help them find forever homes - a 'senior prom!'

The prom was held at The Dog House of Safety Harbor where dozens of rescue organizations were invited to bring their senior dogs, ages 5 to 15, for a night of dressing up and dancing.

The best part? The event was exactly like a hooman prom, these pups even crowned a prom king & queen, an 8-year-old Chihuahua mix named Tye with his partner in crime, a 10-year-old Pit Bull Mix named Nina!

Every dog in attendance had such a blast, dancing and snuggling the night away. They were able to showcase what amazing dogs they are, and how much they deserve their own forever homes. See more of the pictures below and read the full story on The dodo.
