Mayor Berry Proposed $5.2 Billion Transit Plan

Mayor Megan Barry and other city leaders unveiled the city’s mass transit plan yesterday.

The plan looks to cost about $5.2 billion and in that plan it includes a light rail system which would start in 2026.

Looking at the map the routes of the rail will be Gallatin Road toward Briley Parkway, Murfreesboro Road to the airport, Nolensville Road to Harding Place, Charlotte Avenue to I-440 and downtown to TSU.

Also included in the plan would be a tunnel that would go under 5th Ave from Charlotte Avenue and Lower Broadway. There is also a plan to redo the Metro bus system.
