Nashville Metro Council Votes To Build MLS Stadium

Last night Metro Council had a vote on the new MLS Stadium. Now the soccer stadium has been a big talk in the community. Some have wanted it and some have not wanted it. The Metro Council voted 31 to 8 to demolish some of the buildings over at the Nashville Fairgrounds for the MLS Stadium.

Some people were hoping that the vote would not pass say they plan to challenge this vote in court because they believe the council isn't following its charter.

Nashville MLS owners finalized a community benefits agreement between Stand Up Nashville prior to the vote last night. This agreement will include affordable housing units and a minimum wage of $15.50 for all jobs at the fairgrounds with a priority of hiring local.
