Bill Cosby Sentenced To State Prison

Bill Cosby has been sentenced to three to 10 years in state prison for sexual assault. As you know, Cosby had been found guilty of three counts of sexual assault for drugging and molesting Andrea Constand in 2004.

Before his sentence, Judge Steven O'Neill named Cosby a sexually violent predator. This was despite Cosby's defense arguing his age and blindness made him not a threat.

After today's hearing will need to register with state police and notify any community he lives in that he is a sex offender. Cosby will also undergo mandatory counseling for life.

Cosby's defense team argued the state sex offender las was too harsh given Cosby's age and that he's legally blind.

Cosby faces a maximum prison term of 10 years after a deal between prosecutors and his defense team.

Kevin Steele, The Montgomery County District Attorney, wanted Cosby to serve five to 10 years in jail for aggravated indecent assault.

Cosby's defence is pushing instead for house arrest.
