A Six Flags Amusement Park north of Albany, NY was the scene of an incredible rescue by strangers. A girl was hanging from the gondola ride. (Why?! What was she doing to get to that point? But that will come out.)
The amazing part is the girl was caught falling from 25 feet above the ground by strangers who gathered to catch her and encouraged her to let go. One man and his daughter caught her after they heard the screaming from above.
Matthew Howard told the Associated Press, “I couldn’t let that little girl die. No one wants to put himself underneath a body like that, but I couldn’t stand by and watch.”
The ride was inspected and cleared as safe. (So we're guessing it was her fault that she was hanging there.) “There does not appear to be any malfunction of the ride, but we have closed the attraction until a thorough review can be completed,” said a rep from Six Flags.
So WTF was happening with that girl?
