The question was taken up by the BBC who asked eel specialist Dr Kenneth Tighe. He says it's probably a garden, tusky. or conger eel.
He told the BBC that "all three of these species occur off Texas and have large fang-like teeth".
Desai, who found the creature on the beach, decided to "to let nature take its course".
