Is Nashville Still In The Race To Have Amazon's 2nd Headquarters?

These are the big questions that still loom over us since we heard Nashville made the shortlist of cities Amazon might consider for a second home.

Does Nashville still have a shot at HQ2?

Did Amazon ever come to check us out?

When will we know if we got it?

The allure is sweet. The online retailer would eventually create close to 50,000 new jobs. The average annual compensation per employee is about 100K.

And when all is said and done, Amazon would invest about 5 BILLION dollars.

They asked cities to make proposals after publishing what they needed HERE.

According to USA Today, we are still on the list of cities that include:

Atlanta, Georgia

Austin, Texas

Boston/East Boston, Massachusetts

Chicago, Illinois

Columbus, Ohio

Dallas, Texas

Denver, Colorado

Indianapolis, Indiana

Los Angeles, California

Miami, Florida

Montgomery County, Maryland

Nashville, Tennessee

Newark, New Jersey

New York City, New York

Northern Virginia (Loudoun County, Virginia and Fairfax County, Virginia)

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Raleigh, North Carolina

Toronto, Ontario

Washington, D.C.

USA Today says they visited all the cities this summer, but Amazon and reps from those cities (we're assuming new mayor David Briley and other officials gave them the grand tour, possibly by peddle tavern).

But all the visits were kept top secret. So nobody knows what Amazon said, or what Nashville offered.

So when will we get an answer?

According to their documents, the decision will be made in 2018. That would give them until December 31st. But it doesn't say when they'll tell the public.

So Jeff Bezos, we won't tell anybody. Will you spill the tea on this?

It's not that funny.
