For a few years now, we've heard the claim that 100 people move to the Nashville area every single day (and all of them are in front of you in a traffic jam). That would explain the massive growth in everything from construction, restaurants, sports teams, etc.
But is it true? That's a lot of people! Really?
The 2017 census figures are out and the figures were slightly off. It's actually more than 100 people per day.
In 2016, the area had 1,865,535 people (taking in account births, deaths, and transplants).
For 2017, that number jumped to 1,904,226 people.
So, divide the increase by 365 days a year..... and you get....
We grew by 106 people a day. So it's fact (and then some). And there's no sign of it slowing down anytime soon.
