Nashville Police Video Shows New Way Criminals Rob Cars.

The number of cars getting burglarized or stolen in Nashville is reaching record levels.

Metro Police have released a video that shows how organized thieves are breaking into cars.

From Officer Madison Precinct Jessica W., Metro Nashville Police Department:

This was video taken after a recent car burglary in Davidson County. It appears the suspects are driving down the road, leaning out the vehicle, to pull on door handles.

When they find a door that is unlocked, they pull up, let out their crew, and rummage through the vehicle, stealing what they can. Please remember to Park Smart! Lock your Car, Secure your Valuables, and Take your Keys with you.

And that's about cars get burglarized. Did you know,

car thefts in Nashville are up 233% in 2018?!

But so many of them were preventable. We either have a false sense of security, or we just dumb.

Cops say the majority of the cars stolen either had the keys in them, or were left running with no one in the car.

We can do better.
