A second arrest has been made after an attempted human sacrifice in Clarksville. Earlier this year, Jose Mendez escaped from a Clarksville trailer where his friends tried to sacrifice him to the a saint of death.
According to police, two men and one woman locked the doors and windows of the trailer before telling Mendes that they must kill him as a sacrifice to Santa Muerta (a popular folk saint not recognized by any church in Mexico. Also known as the Lady of Death or the personification of death). He escaped with stab and punch wounds to the head.
This sign, a Halloween decoration, appeared outside a trailer next door. The neighbor was unaware of what happened just a few feet away.
Mendez, speaking through his son as an interpreter, told Fox 17 the men had previously confessed to killing people in Mexico. But he believes they have not killed anyone in America.
Here’s more on Santa Muerta, who has become popular with criminals and others in Mexico.
