For the first time since 2016, The Great Tennessee Airshow returns to mIddle Tennessee. June 8th and 9th, the airshow returns to the Myrna airport in 2019. Tickets for the weekend are $35 for the show are now available. Maybe a good Christmas gift for the aviation nut in your house.
This will be the first time the Blue Angels will be performing in quite some time. Their part in the show was canceled in 2016 when Captain Jeff Kuss was killed during rehearsals leading up to the airshow. His F-18 Hornet was destroyed when he struck the ground at a high rate of speed near the Smyrna Airport. A memorial now stands there in his honor.
This eyewitness video of the horrible event still has us shook.
