The tears of joy were flowing at the Nolensville Pike location of Walmart as parents learned that Kid Rock paid off the remaining balances at LawAway. About 350 families in all got the Christmas gift of getting their family's gifts paid off by the music star and now owner of a Nashville nightclub. The total came to about $81 thousand dollars.
He got the idea from Tyler Perry, who paid off nearly 400K in layaway balances in Atlanta.
It was just last week that Kid Rock was embroiled in controversy. As FOX 17 explained:
Kid Rock was replaced as the grand marshal of the Nashville Christmas parade by Waffle House hero James Shaw, Jr., after he made comments about Joy Behar while live on Fox & Friends. Kid Rock will now be in the Leiper's Fork Christmas Parade on Dec. 15 (postponed from today due to inclement weather), according to the parade director.
