There’s very few movies that I can say changed me from the man I was when I walked into the theater. But that happened a few months ago when I saw the story of Fred Rogers, won’t you be my neighbor, at the Belcourt theater in Nashville.
You can see it tonight at 7pm on WNPT in Nashville for free. Or if you have HBO or the HBO GO app, you can see it starting tomorrow night.
I barely remember watching Mr. Rogers when I was a kid. But I do know that it made me feel warm and fuzzy.
But I didn’t expect to see people of all ages, including those that were born after Fred Rogers died in 2003, to be at this movie.
Soon after the movie started, you could hear a pin drop if it weren’t for the sound of the movie playing on the speakers. And by the time it was done, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. There’s not many movies that I walk away from thinking, “ I am better for watching this”. But ‘Won’t You Be My Neighbor’ is one of them.
