If you were thinking, maybe I'll wait awhile for the lines to die down to get my Instagram pic at the Taylor Swift mural in the gulch... think again. They're tearing it down after this weekend!
Kelsey Montague, the designer/painter of the mural, did it on plywood. The plywood won't last, so it's coming down.
MarketStreet Enterprises Managing Director Jay Turner said in a release.
“As a temporary installation, the mural was painted on plywood and not designed to last outdoors beyond a short duration of time. As such, it will be removed at the end of the weekend to be preserved. We encourage all interested to come by for a final photo by the end of the weekend – and beyond that to visit Kelsey’s permanent wings mural just across the street.”
So if you snooze, you lose. Get over there quick.
We hope they save the mural and put it up indoors somewhere, like her win in the Country Music Hall of Fame.
If you never saw it, here's the wonderful madness of when she showed up at the mural last week.
