A naked man led police on a chase at Ascend Amphitheater in downtown Nashville. That's when it appears in video he struck a police officer. 33 year old Matthew Sloan is facing much more than public indecency charges.
Metro cops were called to Ascend when a nearly completely naked man was running around in front of people sweating profusely. Medics tried to settle him down for a medical check, as they thought he might be under the influence of narcotics. Then court documents say he became belligerent and ran from the medical team, still nearly naked (no word on what WAS covered on his body).
Police tried to take him into custody when...
That's when reports say Sloan starting taken swings at the officers, eventually punching one officer in the side of the head. That's when police were able to wrestle him down. But he continued to struggle, so cops used pepper spray to subdue him. It goes on to say he was screaming obscenities and spat at the officers.
The charges:
5 counts assaulting an officer
disorderly conduct
intoxication
public indecency
resisting arrest
He's in jail on a $26,000 bond.
