Every time Mandy Moore sang on 'This Is Us', it just reminded us how much we wanted her to come back to music, and do it in Nashville. It is happening people! It's been 10 years people! Mandy Moore is headlining a show at the Ryman this April.
But she won't be doing the pop we remember. She's going full band and has written a new sound with her collaborator and husband Taylor Goldsmith (singer/guitarist/songwriter for L.A.-based folk-rock band Dawes). She wrote the lyrics and recorded with the full band live (unlike adding vocal tracks to the music as is usually done these days).
According to a statement on the Ryman's website, Mandy says:
“It’s been over a decade since I’ve hit the road but I am thrilled to put together an intimate, elevated evening of new and old tunes, performed with a superb group of musicians. I want the show to have threads of what the writing and recording process was like with this band, almost like you’ve been invited in our living room for an inside glimpse. It just feels good to be sharing this side of me again in its purest form, a real side of me I have been itching to put back into the universe.”
