A CNN crew covering the protests in Minneapolis was arrested and taken into police custody on live television early this morning.
The crew was near the 3rd Precinct when state troopers and members of the National Guard began clearing the streets at daybreak. Despite showing his credentials and being fully compliant, Omar Jiminez and his co-workers were led away in handcuffs. A white news correspondent in the same area was not arrested.
Governor Tim Waltz has since apologized.
