Logal Paul -- one of YouTube's most [in]famous vloggers -- is being praised for speaking out about the Black Lives Matter movement, acknowledging in a new video that he's only able to get away with his "hooligan shit" is because he's "a white kid."
Logan's condemnation of white supremacy and police brutality comes as protests sparked by the murder of George Floyd take place around the world.
"Listen closely," he said on his podcast, Impaulsive. "One of my biggest learnings from all of this -- and I am embarrassed that it has taken me 25 years to realize this -- It is not enough to be 'not racist'. You have to be anti-racist."
He goes on:
"And most importantly, we must hold our authorities accountable—police officers, politicians, policymakers. As Killer Mike [social activist and Run the Jewels rapper] said 'BULLY the politicians at the voting booth.' Make your voice heard."
Logan has pulled some pretty ignorant, stupid sh** over the course of his career -- things I won't mention here so as not to trigger anyone in an already emotional time -- so it's nice to see some growth. White people with influence should absolutely be using their platforms this way; and if Logan Paul can find it in himself to evolve, so can you.
