That thing that made sense to everyone in middle Tennessee, except people in charge... is finally happening.
The Wilson County Fair will now become the home of the Tennessee State Fair. Combining these makes so much sense. The Tennessee Fair hasn't been in a desirable location and had diminishing crowds. On the other hand, The Wilson County Fair has been one of the biggest county fairs in the country.
The Wilson County Fair has over 500,000 visitors each year. The decision was announced and now it just requires the state legislature and the governor to sign off on it.
This August the two will combine, but there will be separate contesting for Wilson county awards and the State awards.
The new fair will be cleverly named:
Wilson County Fair-Tennessee State Fair.
Road improvements in Lebanon around the fairgrounds will be improved to help with traffic.
