One of our favorite actresses, Christina Applegate, has revealed she has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
The star who's delighted in shows like Dead To Me, Married With Children, and movies like Anchorman... has tweeted “A few months ago I was diagnosed with MS. It’s been a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition. It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going.”
In 2008 she had a bilateral mastectomy after a cancer diagnosis. Then three years ago, she had her ovarian and fallopian tubes removed.
MS is a chronic, inflammatory condition of the central nervous system affecting nearly 1 million people in the US. There's no known cause for it. MS affects the brain and spinal cord, slowing down or blocking communications between the brain and body. People usually learn they have it between the ages of 20 and 50.
Applegate is 49 years old. She's asked for privacy now that her diagnosis is public.
