Drive-In movies are just for nighttime anymore. There's a new daytime drive-in in Tennessee that shows movies during the day for those that don't want to wait for dusk. The theater is in Loudon, TN (south of Oak Ridge).
The Loco Drive-In is open for people who want to see a movie during the day (and in the pandemic friendly comforts of their own vehicle). But how does a drive-in work in the daytime? The super bright LED screen is 35 ft high and 95 ft long and has a pic so bright you can see it easily on a summer day. Think about the replay screens at Nissan Stadium on Titans game days.
Gordon Whitener, the founder told Knox News, “There’s no facility that we know of like this right now in the US. That’s what Hollywood is telling us. This will be truly unique… the drive-in will be the core, but we’ll have concerts, car shows, boat shows and more.”
